Linear Bearing Introduction

It is a linear motion system produced at a low cost with cylindrical shafts with unlimited travel. Since the ball is in point contact with the bearing, the load used is low. The steel ball rotates with very little frictional resistance, thus achieving high precision and smooth motion.

Features

Standard linear ball bearings selection (20 photos) Linear bearings are used with hardened linear drive shafts. It is a system for infinite linear motion. The load ball and the hardened drive shaft have a small allowable load in point contact, but the linear motion has minimal frictional resistance, high precision, and fast movement.

Classification

(1) Standard linear bearing, clearance adjustment linear bearing, open sentence] type linear bearing, extended linear bearing, universal linear bearing

(2) Flanged linear bearings can be divided into round flange type, method flange type, oval flange type, guide round flange type, guide method flange type, guide oval flange type, extended round flange type.

According to the specifications of the system:

Linear bearings are divided into two series, namely LM and LME series, whose code LM series is used in Asia, Southeast Asian countries, Japan, Korea, China, etc. With metric size as the standard, the tolerance of linear shaft outside diameter is generally h7. LME series are primarily used in Europe, the United States, Germany, Italy and other regions. The tolerance of the outside diameter of the linear mating shaft is generally g6.

The structure characteristics of the two series are generally the same, except for the difference in size and bore tolerance.

Example 1: LM 203242 UU OP

LM indicates the first series of the linear standard

203242 indicates the size structure bore diameter outside diameter length

UU indicates double seal structure OP indicates the open type

Example 2: LME 203245 UU AJ

LME means linear second series standard

203245 denotes dimensional structure bore OD length

UU indicates double seal construction AJ indicates adjustable clearance

By shape:

1: Straight type (shaped like a cylinder, generally installed with a spring, used for the installation of small size)

2: Flange type (end or middle with mounting flange, can be installed with screws, the flange is generally divided into round, square and cut edge type three)

3: Open type (shaped like a straight cylinder, with axial slits on the exterior, used in the field of gap adjustment, divided into two types of large and small openings)

By performance:

1: Ordinary type (general performance requirements of the use)

2: Supertype (long life and large load performance requirements of the application)

Applications of Linear Bearings

Linear bearings are being used more and more widely in electronics, food machinery, packaging machinery, medical machinery, printing machinery, textile machinery, instruments, robotics machinery, CNC machine tools, automobiles, and other general or special machinery industries.

How to maintain linear bearings

Lubrication and friction: linear bearing internal injection of anti-corrosion oil, if grease lubrication, first uses kerosene or organic solvents to remove anti-corrosion oil, air dry, and then add grease. (It is recommended to use the viscosity mark NO.2 lithium soap grease. )

If oil lubrication is used, it is unnecessary to remove the anti-corrosion oil; according to the temperature change, the lubricating oil of ISO viscosity grade VG15-100 can be selected. The lubrication of the shaft can be supplied from the oil supply pipe or the oil hole outside the bearing housing. Because the seal ring will scrape off the lubricant, oil lubrication does not apply to non-porous bearing with a seal ring.

Other: Linear guide bearings

Metal or other materials made of groove or ridge can bear, fix, guide the moving device or equipment and reduce the friction of a machine.

The longitudinal groove or ridge on the surface of the guide rail is used to guide fixed machine parts, special equipment, instruments, etc. Guide rails are also very common in our daily lives, such as sliding door slides, train tracks, etc. are specific applications of guide rails.
